Following on from its successful international trips to Israel, Italy and Turkey, the RE Department is pleased to announce that its new trip for October 2002 will be to Greece.
A visit to Greece provides an opportunity to follow centuries of previous travellers to the ancient sites to learn of Greece's enormous contribution to Eurpoean culture. Visitors also enjoy the extraordinary scenery, the ready hospitality of the people and the beautiful beaches.
DAY 1: Evening flight to Athens
DAY 2: Escorted transfer to our Athens hotel for room occupation. Breakfast followed by three hour guided orientation tour of the highlights of the city of Athens including a visit to the world-famous Acropolis [ pictured left]. Free afternoon to explore |

the city and discover, if you wish, Hadrian's Arch, the former Royal Palace and the Temple of Athena. In the evening we will have a stroll after dinner in the Plaka to soak up the atmosphere in the narrow streets of this old quarter of the city. |

|
DAY 3: Full day cruise to the islands of the Saronic Gulf. De-parting from the Trocadero, the first stop is the island of Aegina [pictured right] where we will be able to visit the classical Temple of Aphaea. The cruise continues south to Poros [pictured below] |

and then goes on to the long rocky island of Hydra before return- ing to Athens for our overnight stay.
DAY 4: Depart after breakfast for a drive along the coast to Cape Sounion to visit the Temple of Poseidon, the ancient Greek god of the sea. Continue the drive with our guide to Delphi and enjoy a wander through this bustling town. Overnight stay in Delphi. |

DAY 5: Morning visit to the extensive ancient site of Delphi [pictured above], just a short drive from the modern town. Walk the Sacred Way and reach the Temple of Apollo, site of the famous Oracle of Delphi. Visit the informative museum. Leave Delphi in the afternoon, taking the short ferry ride from Rion to arrive into the Peloponnese and continue to Olympia for our evening meal. Overnight stay in Olympia. |
